Dillsboro Best Western Hotel
Wait a minute. Don’t move on just because you saw that this post is about the Best Western; the same budget hotel brand that probably left you with much to be desired on a family trip when you were young. However, whether you’re a road warrior whose stayed at over a hundred Best Westerns or you stayed at just one in some podunk mountain town and vowed to never go back, then you’ll want to read more into what this Best Western in the Western North Carolina mountains has to offer.
Growing up in a family of penny-pinchers, it’s safe to say that I’ve had my share of Best Westerns. Although they weren’t known for their plush accommodations when I was younger, they have a variety of properties that cater to more than just the road warrior looking for a roadside motel. In fact, many of the hotels, especially the international Best Western Hotels, are actually full-service hotels. Although the Best Western hotel in Western North Carolina isn’t what you may imagine from a full-service hotel, it does offer a unique Best Western experience you haven’t had before.
The first thing that sets the Best Western Hotel in Dillsboro apart from many others is that it’s not located right off the interstate. The Western North Carolina hotel is located in the cozy town of Dillsboro, which is an hour from Asheville. The hotel is situated directly on the Tuckaseegee River, giving it a quaint backdrop in the middle of the Smokey Mountains. Although you’ll be paying a little bit more, I strongly recommend getting a room on the river.
From the outside, the Dillsboro hotel looks like your typical budget hotel, but once inside you’ll notice more than you would usually find at a budget hotel. Apart from the typical budget hotel amenities like business services and a fitness center, the Western North Carolina hotel features a grill and picnic area by the river, heated indoor pool, hot tub and spa, banquet facilities and complimentary full breakfast. These added amenities set it apart from many other Best Westerns.
There are 65 guest rooms in the Dillsboro hotel, with each featuring a work area, microwave, refrigerator, high-speed Internet access and balconies on the side facing the river. Some of the suites offer a spa and hot tub. Rates start at $100 for a standard room and of course go up from there for the rooms and suites that face the river. For a low-key mountain retreat, add the Best Western River Escape Inn and Suites to your list of recommended hotels.
